Day 2

Day 2

Another busy day in Manila. We left at 7am for Novaliches. It was an interesting drive. Poor Sheetal got shot off the seat when the driver had to slam on the brakes to avoid a motorcyclist that stopped in the middle of the road.

Things were a bit disorganised at the site. Nobody seemed to know who we were or why we were there but they were unfailingly polite and sorted things out. Ron, it turns out, was late as he got caught in traffic. Apparently there is also a dress code for the building that is taken VERY seriously. Our driver Mike, sent Anthony back into the hotel before leaving as he was wearing shorts that are a no-no. And poor Sheetal got told when she arrived that her shoulders had to be covered. Thank goodness she had a shirt in her bag!!!

It turns out that I am not, in fact, training 15 people (which I think is a challenge) but 25!!!!! I might have to kill someone!!!! I am quite worried about how it is going to go (understatement). We managed to get most things working in the training room but have one or two challenges to sort out. The manuals have been printed and are being out together. The print quality is seriously crap!!!!!

While we were waiting for our driver we had a wander around the mall next to the site. It was very different to the Podium!!! Our trip back to the hotel was pretty uneventful. Once we got back we headed out for lunch and discovered St Francis Square which is right beside The Podium. It has all the rip off handbags!!! Yay. I picked up a little Lacoste bag for 280 Pesos (less than $10). We had a wander around the Megamall which is pretty big and then came back to the hotel for a bit of a break. A quick email check and then I went to the gym and did half an hour on the treadmill.

Dinner was at Kenny Rodgers Roast Chicken. It was a seriously cheap meal. I had a quarter of a chicken, rice, corn on the cob, cheesy garlic potatoes (well, you have to try these things eh? J), a yummy little corn muffin and a DELICIOUS mango smoothie. All for six bucks!!!!!!

Now I am off to iron a shirt for tomorrow.
